I am a 2nd Lieutenant in the U.S. Army Reserves. I just received my commission in December 2004.  I know that the standard for an officer is to be a leader and to be able to set the example for the soldiers that they lead.  There was a serious problem I had; I wasn’t fit to pass my Physical Training Test. I was more than 20 lbs over weight and I couldn’t even do one good sit up. I was scared that if I didn’t do something about this that I would not be respected amongst my peers or the soldiers that I would have to lead. I prayed and sought for direction.

My friend Sharrief told me about this trainer that she had hired just to help with her nutrition.  She told me that he had a gym in his home. She was showing remarkable changes in her body. She started loosing weight and exercising on a regular bases. This was last year that she told me about Reggie, but I wasn’t ready to hire a trainer and I didn’t like the idea that the gym was in his home.  Well, back to my story, in February I felt that I needed to make a change.

Reggie’s influence on Sharrief inspired me to call.  I called at the right time, Reggie opened up his gym outside of his home, I didn’t know this, but God did and that’s when things started to change for me. I started working out on March 16,2005. My PT test was to be in May and I only had a few months to pass my test.  After being consistent and not giving in to my desire to quit, Reggie stuck with me even when he could see that I needed a lot of work.  I passed my PT test on May 13th. I came back in the military in 99 and passed my PT test only once so this was a miracle. Two weeks later I went to Officer’s Basic Course and passed the PT test again. This really made me feel good about myself.  I made my decision to change due to the requirement that I had to fulfill, but now I am sticking with this life change for me. I have accomplished what I thought couldn’t happen, because my physical fitness was poor. To pass the PT test one needs to get at least 180 points, well I got 225 points.  My goal is to get a score of 300 points. Thanks to Mind B4 Body Fitness, I was able to accomplish my mission to serve my country  and to be an example to the other soldier’s and to live a healthy life. I feel better about myself and I am seeing the effects of my choice to take charge of my body.  I also changed my choices in nutrition that has also helped with my body changes. It feels good when others notice the change. If you are lying to yourself like I was then maybe you should reach out for help like I did and start taking the steps needed to live a healthier life. You deserve it and it is God’s promise that He will keep those who want to be kept. You must be a good steward of what God has given to you and that is your life.  Live long by living healthier.
