I met Reggie Allen on Saturday March 12,
after walking out of Dunkin's Donut with 2 honey glazed donuts in my hands When I walked into the Mind B4 Body Fitness Studio, I inquired about working out with a personal trainer and if there were any spaces available. I left that day signing a contract that I will begin a life-style change that would include healthy eating habits, and exercising regularly. I did not agree upon any type of dieting program.
My first day working out with Reggie consisted of completing a profile and getting measurements. I was so excited, overjoyed and determined until that moment of truth came. When I stepped onto the scale.
On March 24, I weighed in at 175 lbs. and my body fat was 39.2%. My emotions went hay-wired. I couldn't believe what I saw. I cried, I screamed, I shouted and then I finally said it must be true. The scales don't lie. I accepted my weight. I accepted the fact that I was 45 lbs.
overweight. What was I going to do?!!!!
Reggie said to me....Mind before body and when you get your mind to agree, the body will change.
I started working out twice a week. Until the second week, I said to Reggie. I don't feel anything. Reggie informed me that I was going through the conditioning phase, so be patience. NOTE: Your personal trainer is there for you and he listens to everything you say. Reggie then suggested adding another workout day. I agreed and that's when I began to feel the fruit of my labor. Muscles on my body that had not been worked in a very long time got a wake up call. They were burning....burn baby burn. The more I workout, the more I became determined to become fit. I looked forward to coming in and seeing familiar faces and being greeted by a trainer who says...Are you ready to workout and my reply was. Yes, I'm ready. As the pounds were melting away, my self esteem rose. My perception of what I wanted to look like became a reality. Today, I have lost 31lbs., my body fat is 28% and I am
the healthiest I have ever been.
Thank you Reggie for helping me to restore my confidence, making healthier food choices and helping me to become fit for life. You have inspired me and I only hope that I can inspire others by being an example.
